Considering that ferrets are illegal in California, I find it amusing that the American Ferret Association lists more Veterinarian members there than any other state. Obviously, this would indicate there must be lots of ferret owners in spite of the ridiculous law prohibiting them.

Yes, there are actually many more ferret owners in California than you might expect.

For another piece of irony, in the movie Kindergarten Cop, Arnold Schwarzenegger plays a cop from California that has a ferret.

I have recently heard that California has an estimated 500,000 ferrets..... or was it ferret owners? Anyway the ban doesn't seem to be working. Laws only work if there are good and just reasons. Only then will the people submit and comply. And the ferret ban in California is based on completely wrong information.

I agree. I've yet to hear even one good reason for ferrets to be illegal. But you're right, the law isn't working because people don't agree with it, which is obvious with numbers lke that.
