We all know that when you have ferrets or kids around, everything they touch belongs to them. I know that if my ferrets could talk the word they would say the most is, "MINE!" And as soon as they get their paws on their new treasure they stash it in their hidey hole. This hoard can consist of all manner of things.
So this week we ask:
What is in your ferret's hidey hole? |

Stuffed animals that have been well and truly killed, the 'lost' remotes, a sock or two, and the crumby remains of "eating out"

Sorry for the late reply, we have recently lost our first ferret, Loki. She is the cute little ferret peeking over the T on each and every page of The Hidey Hole. That was when she was much younger. She died April 15th at the age of 7.
In honor of her I will tell you what is in her hidey hole. She did not have just one, but instead she had little "Picnics" stashed under the edge of each blanket and dark corner. we would always catch her butt poking out of somewhere as she crunched away. Other than that she had her own special jingly ball. This high pitched jingle ball had a little pink bead in the middle, you may have seen them. They were her favorites. She always had one and it would move around the room weekly to different homes, but we could always hear her jingle it. And if anyone, human or ferret, played with it she came running and put a stop to it.
She was the mother hen, and our little lady. She will be missed.
Sorry to make this a downer post. Any reply about Loki please PM them to me and keep the rest of this thread happy. |

| Stuffed animals (including MY ferret colectibles), fleece blankies, a scrubby sponge, the head of what used to be a fairly valuable old wooden kachina sun doll, an apple core when they can manage it, empty treat bag, my wallet (when they can), shoes and slippers, the littlest ferret (except she won't stay put), tube of denture adhesive, rattle eggs. |

I recently moved a lot of things around and my 4 ferrets were using a space under our dresser as a sort of community hidey hole (untouched for about a year and a half and here's what I found: 3 small stuffed animals, 10ish socks, 2 pencils, all 3 of the little rubbery ferret chew treats, a cat "babble ball", a makeshift toy of an old pill bottle with a bell inside of it, and a LOT of paper. I have a little girl ferret who nests. (She has no Marshall tattoo's and I have NO idea on her history, but I do know she nests)
Is the nesting unusual? |

Some ferrets seem to be more particular about making their bed. We've had ferrets that really get serious about cave building, and won't settle down to sleep unless their bed is absolutely perfect. We've seen both boys and girls that were like that. Then there are the ferrets that would rather hunt down an already made sleeping spot.
One thing I can suggest that she might really like is a sleep sack. They have always been a favorite here among our cave building kids. |

I have found food, empty water bottles, my cats toys, numerous items stolen from the dishwasher when I wasnt looking, the shoe inserts, lost collars with the bells on them (i have now stopped having them wear them since they both figured out how to get out of them). There is always so much more that you can not list as well but you just have to laugh when you find the things or when the come out hopping along with the items you were missing. |

| Socks! Lots and lots of Socks! dirty or clean doesn't matter. Pieces of food saved for later. Their special toys no one else can touch. |
