Hello everyone! I've been checking out this website for a few days, and finally joined up today. I can't wait to start doing the card exchange with you guys.
I am owned by 8 furrballs so far, but I doubt that will be all. We have room for more, and love for them all!
We have Rambo who is my tough lil guy and the one who knows which door it is you're going to before you even know where you're going..and he'll beat ya there. Rambo is a year old this month. He's a Cinnamon, and weighs 2 lbs.
Binky who we adopted in May when his owners didn't want him anymore. He's a total sweetheart and looks identicle to our Doodle that passed away in late April. He's about a year old they said. Binky, and Doodle, are both Sables. Binky is darker than Doodle was though. He weighs close to 2 lbs...he's gained some weight since living here, he was skin and bones when we got him. He has one broken fang which the vet said isn't going to bother him but to keep an eye on it. He's a doll
Then there's Petey who we adopted the end of May. He was given up because he *stunk*. Well, he'd never been to a vet, just like Binky in that respect, so they never knew the reason behind his slightly stronger smell. I was holding him one nite and noticed a lump above his anus but under his penis. I took him to the vet the next morning, and come to find out, Petey still had one testicle (that we could locate, he may have another, we're not sure yet)...so his neutering job was botched, and he had to have it repeated a couple days ago. He's doing wonderful!! He's been bouncing around like nothing happened since the nite of his surgery. Tough lil bugger! lol Petey also has stained yellow teeth from Tetracycline that was given to him as a baby, probably in the breeding mill. He's a sweet boy, but is aggressive towards the girls in the house, because of his elevated testosterone levels. Hopefully in the next couple weeks he'll slow down some in that respect, and start feeling better. Petey is a roan, and a gorgeous lil man! He's 8 months old and weighs 2 1/2 lbs.
Then there's Baby Girl. She looks most like a Panda. She weighs a bit over a pound, she's a tiny lil girl and 8 months old. She's deaf. She's not much for human touch but she loves to play with ya if you get down on your hands and knees. She's the cutest lil girlie girl lol. She's as round as she is long, but she doesn't weigh much. You'd think she'd weigh more than she does by looking at her. She's my baby.
Then there's Dozer...short for Bulldozer cuz he'll run and tackle anything in front of him LOL. It's too cute. He's very white, and very umm chunky LOL. He's 3 lbs. and as round as he is long, I swear. BIG boy there, and he's only about 6 months old. I used to think he was the same color as Rambo but he's more white, with darker eyes that look ruby in the light. He's a gorgeous lil guy and the sweetest thing...he loves to lay on feet, no matter what you're doing, he'll plop down on your feet and just rest his head there. He's just too cute, I swear!
Then there's Little Man. He's creeping up on a year old too, but I'm not exactly sure on his age at this moment...I think he's probably about 10 months old or close. He's a blaze. He used to be my pear shaped chunk, but he's thinning out some these days. He weighs 2 1/2 lbs. and is the sweetest boy. Never gets in trouble. He's my lil baby. He had a Yogie addiction because I knew no better until recently when I learned how bad they were and took him off them, so he's still battling that. lol Frequent leg taps were my cue to give him treats, now they mean he's going to get kisses and hugs, which he's not that fond of. But he's gonna get em anyway! lol
Then there's Zeus and Daisy. They are brother and sister. Zeus is an albino, and Daisy is a blaze, and the spittin image of Little Man when he was a baby, except that she has mitts and he doesn't. She is the runt, so she's only up to 12 oz. now, and Zeus weighs over a pound already. Quite a difference in size. They are our most recent additions, and only about 9 weeks old. They are adorable lil things! They are into biting toes and loving soup and meaty treats. Daisy loves hanging toys, and Zeus loves to chase the others and tackle them. Zeus is my husbands and my daughter claimed Daisy, and Binky lol. Ah well, I take care of them ALL so they're all mine. lol Kinda anyway.
And that's my kiddo's!! I love them all more than I could ever express to you in a million years. And I'd be utterly lost without them.
I look forward to getting to know all of you and your kiddo's!
And if I don't see everyone on the 4th, HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!! Be safe and have fun!! |

Welcome to the Hidey Hole! We are always looking forward to meeting new ferret people that come here.
The Card Exchange is so much fun, I really think you'll enjoy it. It's such a great way to meet new people and share cards, pictures, and funny stories about you you and your ferrets.

And we all know how easy it is for ferrets to steal our hearts.

It sounds like he had a poor diet before coming to you, which could have led to the broken tooth. I'm glad he's putting on weight for you.

Unfortunately, these incomplete spays/neuters seem to happen now and then. But at least you got things checked out and figured out what was going on. I'm sure once his hormone levels come down, he'll get along better with the others.

We also have a deaf little lady, named Vivi. She actually prefers being with people more than other ferrets. I think it's because she has a hard time communicating with them. She has always played a little too rough with the others, and she can't hear their hisses or cries telling her to back off, so she has never had much luck having other ferrets to play with. But she plays great with her humans.

Wow, he's a big boy! Our biggest ferret was Duke, a beautiful silver, at around 2 1/2Lbs. I bet having Dozer laying on your feet in the winter is great!

Yea, they are always too busy for kisses and hugs, especially at that age. It seems like as they get older they are a bit more willing to let you snuggle them...or maybe they just eventually learn that it's something they are going to have to put up with.

They are so adorable at that age. It's been quite awhile since we've had any youngsters here. Getting them used to things like the soup and meats at a young age is a great idea, so that they'll learn to eat a variety of things, instead of being picky eaters. And I'm sure they just love the special goodies, so it's fun too!
