Well as of Labor Day, fuzzy math struck again. But this time, even though I love all fuzzies, I felt in my heart this guy needed his forever home.

A robust silver mitt male, 5-6months old had spent his whole life in a pet store till we came along. His innocent possum looking face and his timid nature, I knew he was coming with us. His days of seeing new litters come and go an he being left behind were over.

He was "welcomed" home by my other 3.
Lucifer who tries to baby anything that enters thier cage (including the cat)
Shea who was guarded at first, but is really looking for anyone to play with
And Kyba, my alpha male. Anything that invades his space, must be totally dominated into submission.

Poor Thanos spent the first 45 mins of his homecoming being scruffed, dragged, sniffed, tackled, cuddled and attacked before it all calmed down.

He has now bonded with my Shea and has even become Shea's ears. Shea is a deafy albino. Thanos has learned that when I am looking for them to go and get Shea and pull him out of his hiding area. (Its too bute to watch)

I don't think in Thanos' 6 months on this planet that he ever had the amount of space or toys, tubes and things to play with like he has now. From the time his lil paws hit the carpet, he does not stop.

Lucifer is the matriarch of my business. Nearly 5 years old and still as insane as a kit.

Kyba, my alpha male, alson nearly 5 yrs old, has had his share of health issues. He was born blind in one eye, lost the hearing in one ear from a severe ear infection and we had a real scare with him when he got into our bathroom and overdosed on Sudafed.

Shea, our deafy rescue is just a spitfire of a ferret. After being beaten and starved, he is one of our most affectionate. Always ready with a kiss and a dance for you!!. Shea is now bonded and very close to Thanos.

Hello and welcome to the Hidey Hole!

This makes me think back to when one of our departed babies Fria came home with us. She had spent her first few months in a terrible pet store. We found her while we were still thinking over the idea of getting ferrets. We didn't take her home that day, despite her trying to pull us through the side of the cage. We ended up at another pet store a little bit later on where we found our very first ferret, Loki. It didn't take us long to realize that Loki needed a buddy, so off we went in search of another ferret. For some reason we decided to stop back at the pet store where Fria had been, and to our surprise she was still there! There was absolutely no way we were leaving there without her, and so she became one of Loki's best buddies ever!

Sometimes ferrets can be a little harsh to new members of the group. Luckily they usually work things out amongst themselves, but not before the newb gets a thorough "welcoming" as you mentioned.

I am always amazed at how ferrets can learn to work together and watch over each other. They are such smart little critters.

It sounds like he's a very happy ferret and was lucky you found him. Smile

Oh my, that must have been awful. What kind of treatment did he receive to overcome the overdose?

Our only ferret now is Vivi, who is also deaf. In our experiences with ferrets, it seems like deaf ferrets tend to have so much personality, and are quite silly at times, but that is what makes them so much fun!

I hope we hear more stories of the Fiercesome Foursome!

Kyba spent 3 days in the hospital on all kinds of IV's. I know one was valium to control the seizures. He was on something to try and slow his heart rate down. After a day and a half, he started coming around and getting back to normal. I did get a chuckle from one of the vet techs who told me they found out the hard way Kyba is bottle trained, not water dish. they put a dish of water in the cage with him and the poor vet tech thought he was unconscious because he was face down in the water blowing bubbles. (Kyba is a snorkler)

Did this happen recently? Shocked How is he doing now? I have never heard of this! *Grabs the Pink Book to look some of this up later* My Vivi likes her Baths, but only if they are warm.

I must be a practiced hand at this! I counted 4 noses right off! Makes you want to dive in and take a nap!

Your silver reminds me of Duke. He was our Big Boy who Thought he was in charge, but it was the girls that really ran the house. He was always the bottom of the pile with his girls keeping him warm though. And Nobody touched his stuff. And it was All his stuff.

The overdose actually took place in 2004. Since then, Kyba has had some residual medical issues, nothing life threating, more of a nuisance for him. Hotspots where the IV's were inserted, a minor skin issue where they shaved his neck for another IV shunt. All easily treated when they flare up.

3 of mine HATE baths, but they love to play in water, go figure. As soon as they see the shampoo bottle come out, they scatter. Kyba actually has a very odd obsession with the toilet. You flush it, he comes running and jumps in, lol. His little tail wags and wags while he is hanging on the rim. I do have pictures of this, lol.
